Deputy Manager, Fusion Forum
Space Generation Advisory Council
(Andrew) Tasman Powis is the incoming manager for the 2022 Space Generation Fusion Forum, held every year just prior to the Space Symposium. The event gathers future leaders of the space industry to hear from mentors, network with peers from across the sector and deliberate on some of the most important current topics within the industry. The findings of the Fusion Forum are reported at the Space Symposium and to the United Nation through the Space Generation Advisory Councils permanent observer status at the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.
Tasman is completing his PhD at Princeton University, where he researches and develops software for the modelling of low-temperature plasmas, including electric propulsion systems. His research interests also extend to investigating the economic and policy challenges associated with space nuclear power and propulsion systems.
