Christian is a Principal with the High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Europe’s most active early-stage investment firm with 1.4 billion euros under management and a track record of more than 700 financed companies. At HTGF, Christian has built a portfolio focusing on deep tech including space and quantum technologies which he supports as a board member. Prior to joining the HTGF, he held a senior engineering position at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where he was responsible for the design and development of MASCOT, an asteroid lander jointly developed by DLR and the Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES) for the Hayabusa2 mission of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). He started his career as an officer in the German Air Force and worked on topics ranging from missile defense up to unmanned aerial vehicles for ISR missions. Christian holds master’s level degrees in aerospace engineering from the Federal Armed Forces University Munich and in business and economic sciences from the University of Hagen.
